January 2002 Meeting

Yurah graciously hosted Moroccan night for our first meeting of 2002. Shauna's scrumptious beet appetizer and Carrie's beautiful Bastilla were complemented by two kinds of couscous.

February Meeting

The Gastronomical club was feeling good after a tasty Aphrodisiac Night. Hosted by Jenn, we ate fantastic dishes from fig covered Camembert to pasta with clams. We also welcomed two new members, Brian Frank and Kate Swanson.

March Meeting

It doesn't get any cheesier than Fondue night. The dipping fun was hosted by Erin. From the cheese to the array of meat sauces to the chocolate and caramel, a good time (and meal) was had by all.

April Meeting

We had a very authentic East African night while enjoying the lovely view from Charles and Carmen's apartment. Everyone did a fantastic job, but Yurah's doro wat was particularly impressive, especially to the Ethiopian aficionados in the group.

May Meeting

For our May meeting we celebrated Cinco de Mayo (a few days late) at Andrea's. All the food was so good we needed an eating siesta by the time it was over. Brian's enchiladas were so tasty, we took leftovers home to stuff ourselves with again the next day.

June Meeting

June found us sampling the wonderful tastes of Portugal. Hosted by Carrie, Yurah and Charles delighted us with two different takes on the same recipe. Erin really took the cake though, with her fabulous dessert. We also welcomed our newest member, Rachel.

July Meeting

Italian night was a small, yet filling evening hosted by Yurah. We were joined by another new member, Liane, while we dined on risotto, eggplant parmesan, tiramisu and other fabulous things.

September Meeting

Jenn hosted our Caribbean night in September. There were two tasty types of rice and beans to choose from, jerk chicken and even a delicious cheesecake.

October Meeting

For our October meeting we all met at Erin's and had a Japanese feast. Two kinds of soba, miso, edamame and okonomiyaki left us feeling satiated.

November Meeting

Possibly our best meeting to date, French night took place at Chez Rachel. From kir royales to chocolate mousse, every dish was a delight. More importantly, there was cheese in nearly every dish.

December Meeting

We had a lovely holiday party at Andrea's. With a fond farewell to Carrie, we drank eggnog and ate rack of lamb, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pecan pie and many other favorites before opening white elephant gifts.
